An Enhanced Experience
Healthsharing has been around for many years and in most instances does a great job of sharing in larger medical expenses for it's members. Most negative member experiences come from members managing expenses that do not meet their IUA or the confusion of navigating healthcare as a self-pay patient. Knew Health has worked to remedy this problem by creating the support around their healthsharing community.
This method of seeing and paying for healthcare services can cause almost anyone anxiety the first couple of times that they do it. We are conditioned to use an ID card and think that is the way that we access and bill healthcare services. The self-pay method has proven to be effective and we are here to help members do it correctly. Whether its navigating a conversation at the provider office or avoiding unecessary visits by utilizing our virtual care support we can help.
Expenses Below The IUA
The IUA is a proven alternative do the traditional deductible model that is designed to be simpler. The problem is that we are used to the complex way. Navigating healthcare expenses that do not reach a certain threshold can leave members feeling like they are not getting value out of their healthshare membership. We are here to help you keep those lower cost heatlhcare services that fall below an IUA lower. We are also here to make finding care quick and simple.
Alternative Healthcare
Alternative care can mean different things to different people. We define is by either care received from a DPC, holistic, funtional, intgrative, or naturopath provider. These same providers may recommend more traditional treatment plans as well,, but the point remains the same that our traditional healthcare system is not designed to work with providers who practice these forms of medicine. There is very little support if any for seeing these providers or any alternative treatment plans that they recommend. We help patients navigate this landscape and work with our Healthshare partner when appropriate. Our members find that is makes navigating their recommend care much simpler and cost effective.
Getting More Than Just Healthshare
Healthshare's rely on members navigating healthcare as self-pay patients, providing a safety net for their more significant medical expenses. Knew Health has enhanced the traditional model by removing barriers to care and including them as part of the membership. Members receive complimentary services and allowances to stay healthy.
How Healthsharing Works
Pre-Membership Conditions
To keep membership contributions low for all members, the HealthShare implements a waiting period for sharing of medical conditions that exists prior to enrollment in a Healthshare membership. This section defines pre-membership medical conditions and outlines the sharing limitations.
Maternity
The flagship of our membership includes less out-of-pocket expenses for growing families, choice of providers, and a 60-day waiting period.

Principles of Membership
Each member must comply with the following requirements to maintain membership and remain eligible to participate in the medical cost sharing program. Adherence to the Principles of Membership minimizes medical risks, encourages good health practices, and ensures member integrity and accountability.
Medical Expenses Eligible For Sharing
'Covered' is an insurance term. We offer community sharing for medical expenses. Generally expenses one will acrue from a hospital or providers office are shareable after the initial unshareable amount (IUA) member responsibility amount has been met. The community does offer sharing for alternative medical practices not normally "covered" by traditional plans.
The 'Member Guidelines' are a Healthshare's Version of How Things Work
The community-based approach brings members across the US who are actively participating. The 'Member Guidelines' outlines the model for healthcare needs like surgery and hospitalization.
