Alternative Care Can Be Standard Care
At our core, we believe healthcare has options for everyone. While we believe strongly in the approach of alternative medical providers we also understand the important role that traditional providers play.
Rethink Alternative Care Supports Alternative Providers
We consider alternative medical providers those who do not have an MD or DO designation, but rather fall under a category such as Functional, Naturopathic, Integrative, or Holistic. We understand their approach is different than the standard in healthcare and often involves more testing, labs, and supplements. These services are often attained and determined by the patients without support from their healthcare plan and can be confusing to navigate. The result is that patients often pay too much for these services or do not follow through with them. Our membership is not only designed to help ensure affordable cost for services, but also offers the support to navigate these decisions.
Recognizing And Suporting The Recommended Treatments
The problem with traditional coverage is not necessarily the "coverage" for an appointment with an alternative medical provider. These appointments we consider a managable expense. The problem comes when we are diagnosed and want to follow through on an alternative treatment path. In our traditional system there is little to no support and patients will be directed to see a "real doctor". Unfortunately, not all patients and physicians think chemo or radiation is the way to treat cancer. For other ailments they may not find FDA approved medication to be the solution. Our membership gives more support to the methods often recommended by alternative providers. Ultimately we want the decision to be made by the patient and their provider. We offer the support once the course of treatment has been established.
Traditional Providers With Rethink Healthcare
Many of our Direct Primary Care providers come from the Traditional model and have the traditional designation of DO &MD. We support their traditional system of care they offer and know that it play an integral role in our members healthcare journey's. We do not put the onis of a broken healthcare system providers. They issues our in our traditional sytem come from other sources and providers are just doing the best that they can. We feel a practioner burdend with a 3,000+ patient panel and allowace of 6-8 minutes of facetime with patients is a limiting sytem of care.
Suppporting Traditional Care
There is a need for all of us to have traditional care support when surgical or emergency needs arise. Our membership are designed to keep the costs lower for our members than traditional plans. Some of our members have medications or testing that need to be performed and we have the methods and suppport to help members do this affordably. Healthcare is not a one size fits all nor is the type of care we need going to work the same for each healthcare scenario. Its great that many of our members choose work with alternative medical providers, but they cannot perform all necessary healthcare functions.
